Abstract EN

The present paper offers a comparative analysis of the influence of the philosophy of Plato on Eastern and Western philosophical thought.

It argues that the Medieval Islamic school of Peripatetics has not based only on Aristotelian philosophy, but derived from their skillful ability to compromise the philosophy of Aristotle with that of Plato.

From this point the paper demonstrates the continuing development of Plato’s ideas in the Farabi’s teaching.

The Plato’s ideas were influential also in the Western philosophical heritage, which is illustrated in the article throughout analysis of these ideas in the teaching of Jean- Paul Sartre as being some kind of return to Plato’s philosophy.

Thus the philosophical thoughts of Plato, Farabi and Sartre, which at first may seem rather different from each other teachings, in reality are mutually complementary and formulate a single whole in the form of triangle on the sky of philosophical thought.

The paper sheds light on the intricate evolution of the first ideas.
