Abstract EN

The book (Al-Thaw’ Al-Lami’) (Bright Light) by Al-Sakhawi is one of the most important historical sources in the Hijri ninth century.

In this book, the author mentioned the biographies of most famous scientists and other authors browsing the most prominent scientific, literary and intellectual productions.

In this paper, we present a critical study of the resources of this book that showed us: Sakhaawi used the translation system, arranged in alphabetical, not chronological order, showing the advantages and disadvantages of some of the historical narratives through the use of terminology wound and the amendment, providing an important information in his book without documentation, as well as it was written for the forfeiture of a significant role in the codification of most of the texts of the book, highlighted to us his method of critics in this book is that he is influenced by personality of a researcher and a narrator together and this what we can see clearly through the texts that comprised the book
