Abstract AR
Abstract EN
For such a long time the majority of scholars and Islamic researchers have been calling the religious party that used to back the household of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, the Shiites.
However, they disagreed on the issue regarding the classification of the poets, who were supporting the party as far as it's internal divisions were concerned.
They classified both Kuthayyir Azzat and Sayyid al-Himyary within the Kaisnite group.
They, however, classified the famous poet al Kumait within Zaidiyya.
We think that the above-mentioned- poet-classification has not been correct or precise.
This is because we believe that al-Kumait was the greatest figure in the Kasnite creed.
After the assassination of Ali b.
Abe Talib, the followers of the party divided into different groups one of which claimed that Ali was alive became and would definitely appear one day.
That belief became even stronger after the miserable killing of his son al-Husain.
Having that happened the Kaisnite chose Muhammad b.
al-Hanafiyyah as it's symbol.
They considered Kuthayyer one of them and, at the same time, they classified al-Kumait a member of Zaidiyyah.
But as we stated before al-Kumait had nothing to do with Zaidiyyah.
He was, however, a genuine Kaisnite.
At the end we must say that the whole of the Shiite Umayyad poetry belonged to the Kaisnite poets.
The poets, who used to praise the household of the Prophet, peace be upon him, should be considered as supporters.
