Abstract EN

The agricultural investments are considered the pittar of the agricultural sector development and one of the basic means to carry out the programs of this development.

The Success of this development depends on–for extend on the volume of the available investments and how to be distributed Among the different Economic activities.

The research aims to recognize the present situation and the share of the Agricultural sector from the other Economic sectors investments during the period 1992/1993-2001/2002.

This research dealt with studing the evolution of the national investments, The Gross Domestic Product (G.D.P) in total and distributed sectorially and the share of the agriculture sector in addition to the relation between these investment and Gross Domestic Product (G.D.P) during the study period by using the methods of the quantitative and quantitative analysis which the assistance of some statistic methods such as the equations of the general time trend.

The study extended that the value of the investments in the agricultural sector has amounted L.E 1.7 million represent 11.2% of the total investments as an average of the period 1993-2002 meanwhile the investments of the industry and mining, petroleum and products, electricity, construction and building amounted about L.E 2.9, 1.3, 1.02, 0.4 million represent about 18.7%, 8.5%, 6.12%, 2.3%, of the total of the national investments respectively as on average the mentioned period.

The value of the investments carried out by the public and private sector in the agricultural sector amounted about L.E 702, 1027 million represent 4.6%, 95.4% of the total investments respectively.

The study also revealed the share lilteness of the worker from the real investments in the agricultural sector for his counterpart in the other economic sectors where it amounted L.E 2880.

1343, 793 respectively, meanwhile it amounted about L.E 28000.7 in petroleum sector.

For the percent of the investments to GDP amounted 86.1% in electricity sector, 30.6% in petroleum, 25.49% in industry, 16.8% in agriculture and 10.5% in construction that showed fewness of investments directed to the agricultural sector despite increasing the value of GDP generated by this sector.

The study recommends to overcome the constrains facing the agricultural economic development in Egypt particularly in the domain of the investments and the state must not adopt policies to encourage investments in acertain economic activity and neglect other economic activity, also to enhance the role of the investments private sector, besides giving concerns to the governorates particularly in upper Egypt by increasing the investments in public and private sectors.
