English Abstract

In this study 10 bacterial isolates were screened for bioactive metabolites production.

Three bacterial isolates (1C1, 2C1, and 7B1) exhibit activity at least against one type of tested bacterial strains.

7B1 was selected for further study as it produce bioactive extract against the Gram positive bacterial strains, B.

subtili, M.

luteus, and S.

aureus.

Bacillus sp.

7B1 was cultivated in large scale (20L) and the produced extract was purified by chromatography.

The purified compound (band 2) was evaluated for its antibacterial activity.

Bioactivity was measured by agar diffusion and serial dilution assay.

Gram negative bacteria were resistant to the applied pure compound but Gram positive bacteria were susceptible in a concentration range between 25 μg and 100 μg.
