This study investigates the proverbs in Al-Ebana Book to illustrate Al-Aautabi interest in this topic.

It also shows the importance of proverbs in the lives of nations and its place among other arts.

The study shows the classification, division, topics, rhetorics, and metaphors in proverbs.

It also studies the proverbs that deviate from linguistic measurement, the image of women and the roots of story as well as the symbolic reference so as to introduce a complete vision of proverbs.

It also draws attention to the secrets of proverbs and the reasons for its continuity over time and in different places.

The study concludes that Al-Aautabi was a pioneer in studying proverbs, his Book entitled Al-Ebana remains a major source in modern and contemporary critical studies.
