Abstract EN

This study aims to discuss the princes’ contribution to the important political problems that lead to the state steadiness, and to reveal their important role in the administration of the vast areas that Sultan Saladin annexed to his state.

The study treated the dangerous political crisis that was about to threaten Sultan Saladin’s state.

It was the rule “succession” problem in the Ayubid dynasty.

The princes have their apparent contributions in this problem, as they warned about it and called to treat it.

They also have their apparent contributions in the following customs for the authority transition.

So they proved their active and main role in it, because of their position’s sensitivity and importance for the countries’ fate after the sultan’s death, as the state had no obvious system or constitution but inherited traditions.

The study concentrated on their contribution in solving the political problems that faced the sultan as they were supportive to him and effective in making his decisions.

They were also reformers, diplomatic, negotiators, advisors to him in the fine details and sometimes they opposed his policy.

The study showed their importance in the administration of the fiefs that the sultan granted them especially in the constructio sector..

The study investigated their defects, their misuse of power in administration and the inadequacy of some of them.

The importance of the study stems from its revelation of the role that the princes played in the rule problem, and their prominent presence in all the activities of the sultan and his state, as they were active in the sultan’s rule and responsibilities.
