Tawḥīd is the basis of the Islamic Weltanschauung.

Tawḥīdī knowledge, in fact, is the one more closely entwined with the human nature.

Whereas transmitted knowledge aims at making use of the accumulation of human epistemic endeavors, the intellectual knowledge aims at self-actualization.

Through transmitted knowledge a negative definition of man is, at best, attained.

Tawḥīd, however, provides a contemplative, intellectual, mode whereby we are capable of thinking in terms of Divine Names and Attributes of which man is the most encompassing image-to the extent that he is the image of the imageless.

This, essentially, explains why human nature is so difficult to grasp.
