Abstract EN

The aim of this paper is to trace the structures of rhythms in the works of the poets: Ibrahim Toukan, Abdel Rahim Mahmoud, Mutlaq Abdul-Khaliq, and Burhanuddin Abboushi who lived through the British Mandate over Palestine.

The figurative and rhythmic structures have imposed a significant presence in the “geography” of poetic texts.

Structures such as repetition, juxtaposition, paradox, recycling, and alliteration were techniques adopted by the poets to enrich the rhythms, and their semanticity.

Tracing these structures revealed that the poets dealt with them in certain patterns that varied in proportions from one poet to another.

This treatment accounted for the stylistic phenomena that were manifest in the intentional use of linguistic relations that carried clear meanings.
