Abstract EN

The study aims to investigate the views of the KAU students about establishing a university educational satellite channel, and to identify the types of educational programs that the students (regular and distance learning) (males and females) would prefer to watch on this channel.

Also the study will identify the students’ watching habits and the (ratio) of their watching in relation to the types of programs they have specified as a preference.

The researcher applied the survey methodology on the KAU students in order to investigate their views about establishing educational channel, broadcasted from their university.

The study relied on a questionnaire prepared by the researcher.

The questionnaire consisted of 9 measuring questions that achieve the aims of the study through the answers given by the researched students.

The study was conducted on 600 male and female students.

The study findings are the followings : 1.

KAU students embraced different communication channels.

The satellites channels come on the lead, followed by the mobile phones, then the Internet.

The sample group emphasized on the importance of establishing a private KAU TV channel that cover the latest news of their university ,their home country and the students cultural, sport, and scientific activities etc.

3.

The sample group preferred some programs to others.

Their first choice is computer and English language educational programs.
