Abstract EN

The Ottoman authorities and Valis were paid a special attention to Takyas because they were social and charitable foundations .Also ,they were asylum for the poor, pupils and Dervish.

Moreover, they were places for practice the Sufi rites.

Therefore, Takyas were social, cultural, religious and political necessity by the organic connection between the politics and Sufism during the Ottoman reign and by obtaining the public support for sultans and valis plus stabilize the state.

This paper included a study about the most important Takyas in Mosul since the End of the Ottoman Reign to 1918.
