The research aims at recognizing Turkish orientation toward the European markets as an alternative market by analyzing the developing trends of Import and export components between Turkey and the E.

U.

and the change in its geographical distribution for more than last twenty years.

The research has included two basic axis's ; the first has dealt with the developing trends of the components of the merchandise structure of foreign trade between Turkey and the E.U.

While the second has focused on pursuing the geographical foreign trade regarding both Exports and Imports.
