Abstract EN

The research aims at defining the internet advantages and the E-information sources, their uses, kinds and forms according to the medium used, access points, subject coverage, authorship, types of information, the possibility of being portable or not.

The research concentrates on three main points : guarantee the E-information sources, the information and reference services which the library can offer via the internet with actual examples, then the criteria for evaluating the E-information sources and the web sites.

The research followed the documentary method and depended on the printed sources and the sources available on the internet as a tool for collecting data.

The research concluded that the internet accomplished great benefits for libraries in offering information and reference services as far as the research concerns for users in university libraries.
