Abstract EN

Al-Taf Battle is well-known to all who are interested in history of Islam and mankind in general.

Nevertheless, some aspects of this battle needs to be discussed, for instance, the invitation letters of the Kufies to Imam Hussein urging him to come forward in order to declear him Caliph after the death of Maawayah.This paper deals with two groups of classicwl refrences which mentioned these letters according to Abu Makhnaf ( d.

١٥٧ lost books, saying that the Shites notables of Al-Kufa sent him two letters, besides a privet letter containing the name oinvitores.

It seems that Imam Hussein held semi- regular meetings at peligrim times with his fellowers before Maawayah death to prepare them fir his coming to Al-kufa and celebrating his envoy Muslim b.

Also, this paper studied the time of which these letters were sent from Kufa to Mecca, the roades and envoyes who were secretly to despatch them.

However, the Ammawayed attitude to these letters and the measures were taken by them in Kuka and disscused.
