This research has followed up the competition between Britain and Italy about Yemen as of the StL decade of the 19th C.

up to 1943, the date when the diplomatic relations between Yemen and Italy were terminated as a result of the defeat of the Axis States in the confrontation with Allies in the well - Known Al-A'lamcin Battle.

The research has tacked the reasons and nature of the British - Italian competition about Yemen during the last quarter of the I9tJl C.

It has pointed out to the positive, as well as negative, reflection of these relations and the interest of the to parties in Europe and tbe African Horn the competition between them about Yemen.

It has also noted to the decrease of this competition clearly during and in the aftermath of tbe first world war because of their participation by side in the war.

The research concentrated on the clear development that the Italian - Yemeni relations had witnessed after the signature of the 1926 Treaty between them and the secret agreement that followed it, and the change in the British policy towards Yemen in order to face this development and control it in a way that dose not lead to harm the British interests in the area in general and in Yemen in particular The renewal of the Italian - Yemeni Treaty in 1937, the rise of the Italian influence to it’s highest, and the British stand towards that, were all tackled in this paper.

And last the research clarified the influence of the second world war on the competition between the two parties after they had joined the war in the contra - front of each other.

This ended in the cut of the diplomatic relations hetween Yemen and Italy, after Al-A’lamein Battle, and the end of competition in Yemen by a British victory which was in fact a part of the final victory of the Allies in the war.
