Abstract AR

Abstract EN

The main objective of this paper is to reflect and show two contradictory impacts of nature upon two lovely creatures; a beautiful young girl and a small pretty bird, a robin.

The poems selected are Wordsworth's "Three Years She Grew in Sun and Shower" and Davies's " The Truth".

In these poems, nature, the dominant force, behaves in two opposite directions.

In the first poem, the young girl is hailed and received by nature tenderly and peacefully.

She is treated kindly and fostered delicately, whereas in the second poem, nature plays a passive role in the life of innocent creatures, birds.

It is that nature which becomes the source of harshness and cruelty: it pushes the little bird to be more hostile and even more offensive.
