Abstract EN

The main objective of this research work is to Evaluate the potentially of the remote sensing technique to detect the ground water in the study area.

To achieve this objective a satellite image acquired by the American system( landsat )7-covering the study area was selected.

ERDAS IMAGIN, as a digital imaging processing application program was used to enhance , georeference and classify this image according to the land cover of the study area.

The classified image was subjected to a comparison process with the geophysical methods for ground water detection.

The analysis of this comparison shows that, the remote sensing and digital image processing techniques provide a very power full tool for ground water detection.
