Abstract EN

The present research examines the potential role that social networks play in boosting media campaigns against drugs.

It identifies the advantages associated with the use of social networks in such campaigns.

Also, it exposes the flaws and obstacles that hamper the effective role of social networks.

The methodology used in the present research is content analysis approach.

Pursuant to this approach, the researcher has used sample of campaigns against drugs on Facebook website.

The present research also suggests a new theoretical approach.

The latter is more adequate to explain effects of new trends in the social media campaigns.

Results show that loss of consistency among ideas decreases the efficiency of using social media campaigns.

Based upon its results, the research presents a specific action plan to show the best use of social media campaigns against drugs.
