Abstract EN

This paper presents modeling and simulation of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) based Direct Torque Control (DTC) of Induction Motor Drive fed by Space Vector Modulation (SVM) based Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) which allows precise and quick control of induction motor without calling for complex control algorithms.

Also this technique is found to yield low steady state torque ripples and current distortions.

At the same time the technique retains fast transient response, associated with DTC.

FPGA is chosen due to its fast proto typing, simple hardware and software design and provides reduction in execution time.
