Abstract EN

Advancement of technology witnessed today is not without its demerits; several kinds of modem crimes have emerged.

One of these crimes and may be the most serious is Information Crime which is nowadays posing danger to security and stability of societies and individuals.

Traditional ways of proofing such crimes seem to be futile; therefore, other modem ways of proofing that are tailored according to the nature of such crimes are to be adopted.

The study, hence, defines criminal evidence, and sets forth its ways, and systems.

Characteristics of digital evidence; importance of proofing crimes by means of digital evidence and proof hindrances are also explained.

The study also touches upon KSA's transformation into an information society; security of information and importance of relevant penal procedures as per KSA's regulations.

The study arrives at a host of findings all of which are centered on the importance of digital evidences adoption.

Findings also showed the absence of penal procedures explaining the way of dealing with digital evidences.

In its recommendations, the study stresses the paramount importance of determining conditions and legal framework of digital evidences; introducing amendments to the penal code to include articles stipulating explicitly ways of dealing with digital evidences and holding debates and conferences on digital evidences.

Among the most salient recommendations is also establishment of digital labs.
