Community Police is considered one of the various forms of citizens' synergism with police and taking part in maintaining security and keeping order.

It is a new crime prevention-oriented philosophy intended to provide an integrated security service by dint of enlisting the public's participation in this regard.

So, this treatise is dedicated to highlight Community Police role in facing violence phenomenon through setting forth its forms, causes and negative impacts on the society.

Treatise also investigates on the causes of the soaring rates of the phenomenon, and its newly evolved forms in the wake of the rapid changes and developments witnessed nowadays.

Therefore, a fundamental question has been raised about the most appropriate ways of facing the phenomenon and curtailing it.

Notwithstanding its seriousness, yet, less has been written about this subject, therefore, researcher puts premium on this research.

Researcher sets form the concept of violence; which is any physical assault either by hand or weapon which causes injury or death.

Treatise puts forth the concept of Community Police as well as the mechanisms adopted so as to uproot the phenomenon.

Mechanisms can be narrowed down to Mass Media; public relation bodies affiliated to police and establishing a close rapport with civil society institutions.

A host of conclusions were reached by the study namely; me paramount importance of establishing a separate department for Community Police at the MOI; the need to raise crime prevention awareness among the public; rehabilitation and integration of the released and the importance of activating the role of public relation sections in police.

Treatise comes out also with a number of recommendations such as creating websites for the various sectors of police; arranging visits for people of different walks of life to police departments and finally providing mass media with required information about violence phenomenon and police combating efforts.
