Abstract EN

This study aims to ascertain the amount of contribution done by Saudi daily newspapers to promote domestic tourism and their roles to identify the various regions of the Kingdom, its highlights and features of attracting tourists.

A random sample has been selected from newspapers issued during the summer vacation in l42IA.H.,as the published tourist articles in those newspapers were subject to a comparative analytic study.

The study has included an introduction and two chapters; the title of first chapter is (the Need of Domestic Tourism to Media Support & the Reality of Journalistic Tourist Media) while the second chapter is consecrated to the analytic study and included three topics.

The first topic among them has included space size used to cover the published tourist articles in the sample of newspapers comparing to the total of their sizes as well as the distribution of such space size among domestic and external tourism.

Meanwhile, the second topic is focused on writing aspects such as identifying used patterns in demonstrating the articles of domestic tourism, resources of information used by newspapers, cities of the Kingdom mentioned in such articles, tourism aspects and views included.

Finally, the third topic has dealt with the aspects of publishing domestic tourism articles such as defining their publishing spaces, types of their headlines, suitability of accompanying photos, colors of such photos and whether they are modern or adopted from archives.
