English Abstract
-This research was held to reveal the acute shortage of infrastructure to local Dar El Salaam Rural Council in North Darfur in terms of water, schools and public health Facilities, it is sufficient to meet the considerable need of human in that region against the backdrop of the civil war history and assessment this structure, water sources are considered as unimproved (non-potable) drinking water sources.
On average, 3,170 people fetch water from a single hand pump and functioning hand pumps are available in only 9% of the villages, totaling up to 32 hand pumps in the 339 settlements, Health services are severely inadequate for most communities in Dar El Salam Rural Council Eighty-eight percent (88%) of the villages assessed have no healthcare centre or clinic, 11 Primary Health Care Units (PHCUs) are entirely non-functioning.
The main reason for the non-functioning health facilities is the lack of funding from the Ministry of Health.
Education is another concern in Dar El Salam Rural Council.
Only 10% of the villages assessed have an education facility, 96% of the existing education facilities are basic primary schools.
Main objective is to prompt long-term planning for return in rural areas, through profiling potential return areas to assist future recovery, and to flag areas of existing humanitarian concern, maintain an accurate population map profile of Dar Alsalam rural council, Provide the basis for planning and programming decisions for the eventual return in Darfur.
As recommendation Government and organizations should re-development of the region in terms of water resources, education and health
