This study was aimed at investigating the attitudes of nineth-grade students towards using computers in teaching mathematics.
This includes attitudes towards the computer set, the program of teaching mathematics, the time exploited in using the computer, and the motivation towards using the computer.
The sample of the study consisted of 59 students (30 male) from Al-Etihad school for Boys, and (29 Female) from Al-Urooba School for Girls.
The researcher developed a special scale and a transformational geometrical program, that were validated by a group of experts.
The samples of the study were taught for three weeks using this computerized program.
Means, standard deviations, t-test and MANOVA were used to analyze the data.
Results of the study showed that students have positive attitudes towards using the computer in teaching mathematics and they also have positive attitudes towards each dimension under investigation.
However, the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the attitudes of male and female students towards the use of computer in teaching mathematics.
It is recommended that computers should be used in teaching of mathematics in all schools.
