The purpose of this study was to identify the levels of job satisfaction for faculty members in engineering colleges at Al-Balqa' Applied University.

The study aimed at showing the impact of different variables regarding faculty members including teaching experience, job qualifications, or academic rank on their level of professionalism.

The findings were based on the theoretical literature as well as previous studies in the field of job satisfaction.

Furthermore, a survey was used as a means to measure the different levels of job satisfaction for faculty members.

The survey, in its final form, consisted of 36 sections, it was completed by the faculty; it was evaluated and given feed back by several experts in the field of human resources.

The survey consisted of 5 different areas including working conditions, salary, incentives, and relations with colleagues and immediate supervisors.

The study attempted to answer the following two questions: (1) What is the Level of job satisfaction for faculty members teaching at the engineering colleges at Al-Balqa' Applied University, and (2) are there any statistically significant differences at the significance level of (alfa 0.05) related to the fevel of job satisfaction that could be due to job experience, qualification, or academic rank? To answer these questions, the overall means, averages, and percentages were used in the calculation process.

The T-test was used to investigate the differences in the levels of job satisfaction, and the Single Survey analysis was used to identify the levels of job satisfaction for the participating subjects.

Variables of the study were taken into consideration including: experience, qualification, academic rank, and college location.

The study was conducted after establishing the validity and reliability of the survey.

The scope of the study covered all faculty members who teach at the different engineering colleges at Al-Balqa' Applied University.

202 surveys were distributed and 112 (56%) responses were received.

Overall results of the study may be summarized as follows: First, job satisfaction for faculty members was about average.

The highest level of job satisfaction surveyed ranks in descending order: (1) Immediate supervision, (2) relations with colleagues, (3) work conditions, (4) incentives, and (5) salary.

Second, the results of the statistical analysis revealed that there were no statistically significant differences among the overall means and averages at the level of (alfa 0.05) concerning the level of job satisfaction that could be due to qualifications or academic rank but that were statistically significant differences at the same level that could be due to teaching experience and the location of the coliege.
