Demonstration is a process where a group of people take to the streets cooperating amongst themselves to achieve a common goal.

As one finds in many a places in the Sunnah (traditions) of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), demonstration is legitimate as long as it takes place within the framework of well-defined terms and regulations in order to protect the rights of people.
