Abstract EN

Local people are considered the best who can express their problems and remedies for solving them.

This should be bom in mind when considering a successful development program.

This study investigates local peoples’ socio-economic conditions together with problems and the best proposed strategies to solve these problems.

In addition, this study shows that geographic conditions are suitable for agricultural and range development.

A field study in Wadi Araba shows that there are some socioeconomic problems that local people suffer from.

Local people, on the other hand, suggest some programs to solve these problems and to enhance the level of income, social services and infrastructure in the area.

Results of statistical analysis show that there are no statistical significant differences in local peoples’ attitudes in different settlements in Wadi Araba about their problems or the programs that they suggest for solving these problems, except that for agriculture.
