دراسة مورفولوجية و بيئية عن ذبابة مينيو البيضاء Paraleyrodes minei Iaccarino (Homoptera : Aleyrodidae)‎ في سورية

Abstract EN

Mineo whitefly, Paraleyrodes minei, was first rccordcd in Syria in 1987 on old citrus leaves at the coastal region of Syria.

The pest attacks 37 host plants from 21 plant families.

Infestation is usually localized in canopy center.

Eggs arc laid in circlcs within nests of waxy secretion on the lower surface of leaves.

Females laid 60.2 eggs on the average.

Mated females produced males and females, whereas unmatcd females produced males only.

minei has nine overlapping generations.

Generation duration ranged 15-20 days, at optimal conditions.

All developmental stages were present in winter.

Variations in population density were monitored on Satsuma in 1994, 1995 and 1996.
