Abstract EN

Man has been dependent on his environment for a living since God first created human beings.

With the increase of the world’s population and the speedy progress of science and technology, man’s influence on the environment has increased.

Consequently, this has led to many environmental problems, and hence a great concern for environmental issues at the national and international levels.

This concern has materialized in various initiatives such as enacting decrees and legislations and providing the practical solutions to the environmental problems.

The efforts cannot achieve their goals unless they are fully comprehended by all and duely rational practices in order to protect the environment.

As a heavenly religion, Islam has aimed at developing human beings mentally and culturally so that their dealing with the environment might serve the purpose of enhancing their existence and preserve the environment.

This paper is one of the attempts to explain the comprehensive and intact Islamic view to protect the environment and keep it safe.
