2-Trimethylstannylterthiophene couples with functionalized aryl bromides and substituted bromothiophenes in the presence Bis (triphenylphosphine) Palladium (Jl) chloride to give substituted terthiophenes and substituted quaterthiophenes, respectively.

Also, 3-trimethylstannylthiophene and 2-trimethylstannylthiophene couple with substituted 2,5-dibromothiophenes to give substituted branched terthiophenes and substituted a-terthiophenes, respectively.

The structures of the new compounds were confirmed by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, and 'H-NMR spectral data.
