Abstract EN

One of the most important objectives of the farm manager is to choose crops that give the highest profits; and to do that, he tries to grow the crop that increases the value of marginal resource product higher than market prices, or at least be equal to them.

The objective of this research is to focus on the economic efficiency of resources used in growing cotton in Nineweh Provence during the sesaon of 1998.

Field data were collected by using a special questionare covers about 10% of the research community to know the differences among the values of marginal product of resources and their economic coefficients, and then to determine the deviation from balance level.

The result indicated that the capital resource exceeded its value marginal product (1.5), while its market price was (1.1).

However, the value of labor resource did not exceed (564) ID.

while its market price was(1500) i.d.

This indicates the importance of a wide range use of the capital and decrease the labor until they reach their optimal quantities.

It was also observed that a response of crop supply can be made through supporting the price of product, because of the high elasticity of supply which was ( 2.333).

It is also expected that the demand on the capital resourse will be increased, and that on the labor resource will be decreased when the objective is to reach the optimal quantities of them.
