Abstract EN

The paper studies the structure of the Arabic sentence.

It starts with determining its meaning through Isnad, and proceeds to form a conception of its structure based on the views of the grammarians and modem linguists.

It emphasizes the subject and the predicate form as the basic structure of the sentence and that the sentence in this structure is "infinite or unrestricted free from any connections or syntactical associations.

Subsequently, the range of the structure widens through the elements that form the functional structure; the sentence in this structure is restricted by including elements linked by various functions.

The paper has classified these elements according to their structural, semantical, and pragmatical dimensions.

The paper also tackles the complex sentence, the means of links in the sentence, and the various ways of composing the sentence.

It concludes with a brief presentation that shows the major elements that form the sentence structure.

It Proposes that this structure is not nominal (formal), but combines linguistic and nonlinguistic elements that achieve comprehensiveness and regeneration to the sentence.
