Abstract EN

This study aims at exploring the relationship between the narrative and poetry genres.

Some researchers assume that literary arts are in their way of attaining the status of texts or discourses.

This study is based on four poetic characteristics in the novel "anta munthu alyawm" which are the following: the title, narrative beginning, symbolism and language.

The results of this study reveal that poetic interventions did not affect the novel characteristics, but rather enrich it them and wider their interpretations.
