Abstract EN

This study focuses on the repetition employed by Ibn- Al-Dumynah, one of the acclaimed love poets of the Abasside and Umayyad periods.

It discusses the effect on rhythm and meaning in his major poem Al-Baiyah (B-Rhymed).

The study also shows the various types of repetition and the effect of each type on the classification or extension of ideas.

In its capacity a powerful stylistic device, repetition allows the literary text to acquire new meanings each time it is employed.

The study shows the importance of repetition as a stylistic device that can be used to confirm the authorship of texts.

Consequently, this text can safely be attributed to Ibn-Al-Dumynah as it is one text and not a number of texts selected by other poets.

Rather, it is put together by narrators and attributed to him.
