Abstract EN

A doubled verb (mudaaf) is a verb in which the second consonant of its root is identical to the third consonant in the scale (faala).

Since doubling may imply change in the structure of a word, this kind of verbs has consequently non-compulsorily changed in the Arabic language.

This study will analyze the transformation upon such verbs in light of Semitic languages, such as the dual conduct in their use; in both dialects of nağd and hijaz.

The study also describes the transformation of the first consonant component, transformation of a regular doubled verb to a syllabic one; such as (zalazla), in addition to the magnitude of change in first syllable inflection.

The study also sheds light on transformations of a doubled verb itself, and the effect of stress consonants on its structure.

The study will use the comparative method after analyzing some manipulative phenomena in Arabic and Semitic languages to deduce the way in which such verbs had been used.
