This study examines one of the literary models whose writer directed it in order to reveal the ugly face of the French colonialism of Algeria.

it is testimony of the role of literature in surving colonialism and defying it at the same time.

It is abvious that colonialism concentrated on the cultural aspects, military principles of domination and care about the continuation of its roots even after its departure, depending on cultural colonialism.

The study revealed the western colonial nature of its attitude toward the other colonalized side, the methods used by nations in resistance and defiance of cultural colonialism.

The study presented the artistic elements and techniques used by the novel to disclose the colonial vision and resistance vision.

It shows that the colonial movement stems from an intellectual ideology which looks down upon the other to justify its colonialism and looting its potentials under the excuse of helping it to get rid of ignorance and backwardness by virtue of scientific superiority and power.
