من قانون توزيع السرعة لماكسويل يمكن حساب عدة مميزات للسرع الجزيئية و منها سرعة الاحتمالية الأكثر و متوسط السرعة و معدل مربع الجذر و التي تتطابق مع شرط السرعة لمزيج من غازات مختلفة في درجة حرارية مقدارها 300 كلفن.
النتائج المستحصلة من هذا البحث تم رسمها كدالة لمتغيراتها و قد أظهرت تطابقا جيدا مع الأدبيات المنشورة.
