The upper platue of the Algerian country is considered as a part of the steppe area of the south west Oranean area.
This area falls under the influence of the semi arid climate.
The present investigation was unertaken to study the soil types and composants of in the upper platue in relation to the steppe plant groups of Stipa tenacissima L.
The edaphologic results of soil show - A high percentage elements.
- A high of calcaire total, - A structure particular who dominante on profiles whole, - The soils depth of field are brown.
In a edaphologic perspective, the different principal component analyses (ACP) demonstrated that the most important edaphic parameters for plant diversity is in relation with lithologie

Dans le cadre de nos recherches nous étudions les sols des groupements végétaux steppiques caractéristiques à Stipa tenacissimci L.
Les résultats analytiques des sols montrent : - Un pourcentage élevé en éléments grossiers.
- Une teneur élevée en calcaire totale, - Une structure particulairc qui domine sur l’ensemble des profils, - Les sols en profondeur sont bruns, Par ailleurs les résultats de l’ACP (Analyse en composante principale) évoquent entre autres la fidélité de la végétation à la morphologie en relation directe avec la lithologie.
