Abstract EN

This study highlights the segment of technical training in the Naif Arab Academy for Security Sciences NAASS as the scientific bodv of the Arab Ministers of Interior Council.

The training in general has been the focus of NAASS since it was founded in ll)NO.

The technical training in particular has been given close attention In the Academy because of the real need in the part of Arab security anencies.

This paper divided the areas of technical training into four major areas as follows: I - Technical Training in Securit\ subjects: The training institute in the NAASS has organized nianv training courses in six technical aspects which are' 11 Training courses in confronting frogerv 5 courses has been organized with 110 participants.

The courses were held in Riyadh.

Paris and Germany.

1-2 Technical training in Criminal Investigation: ft courses has been organized wilh 95 participants.

The courses was held in Riyadh.

Germany.

Netherlands, and Paris.

1-3 Technical training in Security of communications: 4 courses has been organized w ith 1ft1) participants.

Courses were held in the NAASS campus.

I-4 Technical training in Explosives: 2 courses has been organized with S3 participants.

Courses were held in Riyadh, and Paris.

1-5 Technical training in protection from Radiation: 2 courses has he on oruanized with 49 participants.

Onuses were held in Rivadh and Austria.

1-6 Technical training in Computers: 3 courses has been organized with 111 participants the courses were held in NAASS campus.

2-Technical Training in Forensic Sciences: The training institute in the Academy has organized many courses in four major areas in Forensic Sciences as follows: 2-1 Technical Training in Forensic Chemistry.

2-2 Technical training in Fisical Evidences.

2-3 Training training in Forensic Biology.

2-4 Technical training in Forensic Photography.

In all these areas the Academy has organized upto 1997, 115 training courses with 796 participants.

Most of these courses were held in Rivadh while some were held in China.

3- Introducing modern security technology: The Academy tries every year to organize exhibition for the modern security devices.

The NAASS has organized upto 1997 twenty five security devices exhibition.

Many Arab officials were invited to these exhibitions which were attended by many manufacturers from all the world.

4- The use of technology in training: NAASS has established a department named "Educational Technology Division" which concern in providing the trainers and instructors with the modern technology to be used in the courses.

This Department has producting and providing and introducing many visual aids as w ell as television series for training and security awareness.

This paper concluded that 44 of training courses held in NAASS were technical in nature.

The study recommended some areas to be improved, such as the computers labs the training fields and forensic science devices.

The study encouraged the NAASS to continue this outstanding job in terms of technical training.
