Abstract EN

This study aims at offering an account of some glottal stops that occur at the surface structure of some Arabic words, though such glottal stops do not appear in the underlying structure.

The study offers a justification of such occurrence of this type of glottal stop which can be delimited to the following locations, first, the canonical structure of a syllable such as CVC, second, the syncopation of long vowels such as i, u and a, third, fales analogy, fourth, elimination of diphthongs.
