Throughout the long history of Arabic, the sound [g] has gone thorugh many historical changes that have shifted it from the single image [g] to the compound image [g] that we see today.

This sound has been influenced by some sound rules, then, the linguistic development rules have deconstrcted this sound into its components: the "d" and the spoken "s" This has led to the enlargement of the Arabic lexicography providing it with entries with "g" "d" and MsM.

Moreover, the sound's similarity when single to the sopken "k" has also led to its blending with words that contain the "k" This is also ture about its place of articulation which is similar to the "y" sound, when compound.
