Abstract EN

The Quran is a plain book which explains its meanings in simple manners, on the other hand, some people may go far to search the meaning while it is remains close, this caused some problems in understanding certain verses.

In this research i attempted to explain one important verse in which many opinions were found to explain its meaning, these opinions are between external (direct) meaning and metaphorical one, the verse is ( On the day when it befalleth in earnest " saq") 68:42.

I have presented all the explanations of it and conclude that to give the visible meaning is impossible or not correct, even if the Tradition by the prophet regarding "saq":leg is sound, but it can not be an explanation to this verse.

All these were studied with evidence from the Quran, Sunna, rhetoric, scholars, opinions and thier reasoning
