Abstract EN

The efficiency of tourism in Jordan is evaluated based on the availability of hot mineral water .

A sample of 300 tourists of different nationalities at six sites was examined .

The analysis reveals that these tourist regions are not fully utilized due to the lack or non existence of suitable services, especially in the southern provinces such as wadi Ibn Hammad, Afra and, Birbeta .

Most of the sites were not commercially viable because of the inflated cost and the poor quality .

Over 50 % of the complaints were concerned with the prices, 62,2 % were related to the level of hygene .

Most of the tourists were unaware of these natural facilites due to the lack of publicity since only about 26.3 % were informed by the media .

These facts were prevalent throughout the sample group irrespective of age , sex or nationalities .

No statistical correlation was established at the 5 % level of significance regarding these parameters .

These findings , therefore, indicate the necessity for improving the efficiency of these resources for optimized utilization .
