Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to identify attitudes of leaders in Jordanian Public Universities towards giving women leadership posts in these Universities, based on the degree of their agreement that women posses such abilities and skills of leadership.

The Sample of the study was the members of Deans boards in all public Universities; the total was (45) individuals.

A questionnaire was prepared and administered by the researcher.

The questionnaire was tested for validity and reliability and was found acceptable.

Results showed that attitudes of leaders were very positive with regards to the notion that women do possess characteristics and skills that enable them to lead.

By applying the t- test, there was no significant difference in the attitudes of the subjects in the sample, based on their academic specialization.

The study presented several recommendations that may lead to triggering policies and rules that support the participation of women in leadership positions in Jordanian public Universities.
