This study of Amir al-Sha'bi who is one of the ikhbari’s (chroniclers) of the Iraqi school of history, is an attempt to study the above historian as a source of al-Tabari's "T'arikh al-Rusul wal-Muluk".
In this study the writer tries to cover the life, education, administrative and political positions exercised by al-Sha'bi.
The study also deals with al-Sha'bi's narrations in term of his sources, narrators and methodology.
It is worth mentioning that al Tabari quotes widely from al-Sha’bi's work; for al-Tabari quoted 116 narrations from al-Sha’bi.
