التغيرات الثقافية في قرية محي في جنوب الأردن : دراسة ميدانية

Abstract EN

This study aims at investigating cultural changes in Mahi, a village in southern Jordan that have taken place during the 20th century through analysing cultural system such as family patterns, marriage celebration, familial relation, giving birth, postmortem ceremonies, forms of materialistic culture such as food and clothes.

The study shows that there has been a remarkable change concerning family patterns, the form of the network of social relations, marriage, folk religion, kinship terminolgy.

In addition, the study shows that the cultural systems in this villages have acquired more dynamism and mobility as aresult of the Social changes, the villages has witnessed.

The study was inspired by the structural approach towards analysing the elements of social structure and their functions.
