Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to evaluate the experience of Yarmouk University in the use of computers in accounting education.

A questionaire was distributed to students who passed the “Accounting Applications on Computers” course No.

(ACC.371).

The population is 108 students.

The response rate was 47%.

vthe results showed that most of the respondents consider the course of a greate benifit and expect it to help them in getting a job as well as in their practical life.

Most of the students asserted that the course is a technical value and there is a need to make it compulsory.

The results also showed that the contents of the course is generally appropriate, but there is a need to Introduce other accounting packsges specially in the arabic language.

It seems that the environment needed to apply the accounting package “BOOKS” is not as suppose to be.

It was found that the computer labs were not available for the students for enough time other than lecture time.

There was also a lake of help provided to the students by lab assistants.

The adopted book for the course was considered by most of the students as appropriate.

The obstacles that face the students in the course, the sugested solutions , and a critical view of the package used, are reported in the re-sults.
