Abstract EN

It is general accepted that the development experiences of so called the “Asian Tigers" and other newly industrializing countries of Asia have attracted the world attention.

Only through three decades, there has been a fundamental change in these countries position on the world economy map, with a great shift away from under development and poor countries towards industrializing and rich countries.

As the most successful experiences have been concentrated in a relatively small band of Asian countries, many of economists have tried to transfer these experiences to other developing countries.

In this study, an attempt is made to review theoretical and empirical aspects of these experiences to know how best to benefit from it in our Arab World.

The study gave emphasis to a sample of some of the most successful countries, includes: Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia.

This research is divided into three main chapters and introductory one.

The latter presents a general framework about development policies in the economic thought.

The first chapter deals with the general implications of the successful experiments of Asian countries, while the second chapter deals with this success causes and factors.

The third and final experiences and how to benefit from it in the Arab area.

After we have discussed the general features of these experiments, a number of concluding comments can be made.
