Abstract EN

Visual space occupies an increasingly important role in the formulation of the modern poem and contributes considerably to its interpretation.

Modem poets have developed the use of various visual techniques and have assigned to them wider and wider roles in their expressive intent.

This study investigates some of these techniques which are extensively used in poetic texts: the title and its footnote, black and white spaces resulting from deletion and lack of typographical parallelism, the poetic texts and its footontes, and use of iconic forms.

The study attempts to provide an interpretation of some of these techniques and ivestigate their roles in the text; It warns of the dangers of excessive use of such devices since this will negatively affect the artistic value of the poetic text.
