Dealing in Securities by the use of a price sensitive information (Insider Dealing) is considered by many European laws as an economic.

crime; since it taritamounts to;an offence:against the fairness of the stock market.

The Companies Law in Jordan deals with this issue in S.

194.

However, civil liabilities only are imposed, by S, 194, upon insiders who deal in securities by the use of a price sensitive information relates to their Companies,.

That is, insider dealing is not, expressly, deemed as a crime according to the Jordanian Companies Law which is satisfied with civil liabilities in addition to the fine : imposed by S317 of the Companies Law itself.

In this article, the issue of insider dealing is to be examined in accordance with both the British Criminal Justice Act 1993 and the Jordanian Companies Law 1989,
